Hi all,
I have one question which I can not find an answer. We are a manufacturer of industrial monitoring system and we want our devices have SATA HDD 2.5" with a specific serial number. We have already written software that retrieves disk serial number and check whether the SN is correct, but I do not know how to modify the serial number in the physical HDD.
We currently have in stock HDD Seagate. Please help, how do I change the serial number in the HDD Seagate 2.5" series F3 through the disk terminal?
I used the command:
F3 T>F 01A0, 5555 - This is an example of the change two characters in the serial number
Ok changes, but when I reboot drive, back the default setting - why?
I do the same command for PartNumber and after a reboot does not restore the default data for this field. Please help
Regards

It is almost impossible on Seagate .
The serial number is tied to the adaptive parameters.
