"CE" in model number plays no role in terms of compatibility for heads (etc), if that's what you're looking for, by the way.

Might be. At least one thing is for sure: the "E" definitely stands for the (fairly rare) DB35 series of drives. All the Non-DBxx drives have the E omitted.
I'm sure I have one of these in my HDD "collection", but I'm afraid that the mechanics are a little knackered (however, motor works, and PCB appears OK as well)
