Hi everyone,

I need to replace heads in my old HD. Model WD1600BEKT-00A25T0 with DCM HHCTJHB. I found HD like this:
WD1600BEVT-35VW9T0 with DCM HECTJHB. There is a problem because my old HD is from 2011.

Does anyone know the heads will be good for replace?

Thanks in advance

more important things then DCM
1) head map
2) preamp vendor
3) Preamp rev.
4) Micro Jogs

upload the ROM and maybe we can find you a match

Yes and totally different families:
**A25T* is Everest V family
**VW9* is Tornado (I think, just off the top of my head)

Wow, this **VW** is extremely rare.
Question is (to the OP), are you capable of swapping heads? Do you have experience, equipment and know-how? Do you have clean room facilities?
If the answer is NO to any of the above questions, and assuming the data in the drive is of any value, then you'd better consult a professional to help you out with this. Otherwise you'll end up with lost money and no data.

PS. Jared, Tornados are 3.5" and they're **VW** not **VW9**. I do not know the family of **VW9**, never had one of those in for recovery.
PS2. The fact that some WD drives are labelled with one color and other WD drives are labelled with another color, does not mean they're incompatible. For example, Everest 5 (black) is compatible with Jamaica (Blue), assuming you do things the right way.

Incorrect, I have put Blue heads into Black WDs many, many times with great success. You'll be amazed what is compatible with WD head swaps with a bit of imagination :)
