I have a Seagate ST2000DM001
PN: 9YN164-500
FW: CC48
Connected to motherboard with SATA3 cable.

I have very important documents, videos and photos. It always worked without problems, until now.

Neither Bios nor Management HDD programs detects the hard disk.

I have try with different cables, and with an external interface for SATA HDD. Always the same.

First, the HDD try something with a pi pi piiiii, pi pi piiiii sound, and then it stops definitely. And the PC can't detect it.

Apparently, the electronic board is ok (no burned diods).

The content is very important for me. Thank you very much.

Anyway, it's physical issues (heads and/or media) so beyond DIY.

You'll need pro intervention but expect lower chances and a higher price now you've tampered with it

agreed with pcimage, it was bad move opening a hard drive in non-clean environment and than powering it up.

send it to a PRO and see if there is still some hope for it.

Sorry but there are no miracles that will help you to recover the data. Do not play with ttl, do not put it in the freezer. Trust the forum members and give that case to a pro. It's a ST2000DM001 drive, these fail often badly (bad heads, media damage) and are hard to recover even by professionals.

If you're looking for that sort of miracle, perhaps you should be bringing the drive to a faith healer. Perhaps they can resurrect it from the dead.
