recover overwritten files on CCTV hard drive

hello,

if data files in hard drive(CCTV) is overwriten, is there a chance to recover those files?

I think there is no way to recover data from overwrite HDD :(

it depends how the drive is overwritten.

what do you mean here? do u know a Pro. way of recovering it back?
and have you TESTED it?

what i mean is that it is possible that the required data is not actually overwritten.

B). I do not know a pro
C). yes i have done couple of testing

if you are confused about recovering overwritten data, this is not what i mean. point is how OP determined all data is overwritten.

very simple, he search for specific video and couldn`t find it @ specific time/date (Presume overwritten)

As for the OP Q here: Yes its possible, but the chances are low
and there is a way to get it back IF you were lucky. (tested)

My Init. Quot. for such a case is 2000$

Modern CCTV systems very rarely store recordings as files. Usually that's continuous proprietary video stream.

What's the current condition of the DVR and the drive? How did you determine the available time frame?
