I purchased a Chembook laptop in 1998 or 1999 from Silicon Valley. I think the model was Chembook 9780. One of these two harddrives was the internal hard drive (I think it was the Travelstar but I could be wrong). It has some historic emails with some important players around that era.

I was wondering how I would go about recovering data from these drives. Superficially they look both in good condition. Never sustained any damage as far as I recall.

Maybe they don't? I'm not sure how to proceed in any case. Are there devices you can buy for recovering? I dont have the old laptop. Thanks.
