Reading through posts, most issues with this drive is that it doesn't spin up. This one does spin and stays spun up. It seems like a typical Seagate issue in that it goes BSY with any interaction. However this is only after about 20 seconds. I can initially get the drive to read and get into the Utility. If I shut it down and restart I was able to get a backup (again in the first 20 seconds after starting) so I do have a full backup. I have changed Saved Mode Pages so could write to the drive, so I rebuilt the translator, cleared SMART etc but the issue still remains. If I reboot the drive I can see the first and last sector (within the 20 seconds) so translator rebuild did work okay. But then the drive goes BSY again. Below is the Crtl-X report which looks like garbage followed by the terminal output when the drive goes BSY. Is this the NAND which is affecting the drive, or head failure showing up in a more unusual way??
