Hello,
(Sorry my english is bad)

i had change a pcb of my hard drive ( Seagate - ST500LM012 - 500.0 Gb) and it come back to run and detected but i can't access and i can't recover fastly my data ( the recovering process still 2 days in 14% ).
i try to Disassemble this Hard Drive and i had clean the platter using a glasses cleaner.

Image

but after that my Hard Drive bacame unknown and not detected !

May be this caused when :
- I doubt that I had turned the platter (put it with the down face became up) (swip faces) :!:
- Or using a glass cleaner damage the platter :( :(

So , i want to know if Glasses cleaner damage the platter or not.
if not and the platter still alive , how can i reassemble the hard drive correctly and rework again.

Thak's a lot :)

1. Platters don't need cleaning unless contaminated.

2. Glass cleaner is the wrong solution.

3. If you put the platter upside down, it will not work.

4. You did not diagnose the original problem correctly.

5. Your chances for recovery, or even fixing the problems you have caused, are slim to none.

6. There is no advice to give except I hope you have your data backed up elsewhere.

Me too. At least it is a single platter drive.

How much is the data worth?

I think this is how you lose data. Doing so is likely to damage the disk surface from
