Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Starting yesterday, I've been noticing something going on with my computer. When I was downloading a game from Steam, it would get part of the way through the download then say "Disk Write Error." I did some research on it and the Steam help forum said that the error is usually due to a failing hard drive. I ran a check disk and got this data:
Stage 1: Examining basic file system structure ...
The USA check value, 0x78, at block 0x1 is incorrect.
The expected value is 0xd.
The USA check value, 0x65, at block 0x1 is incorrect.
The expected value is 0xd.

I decided it would be a good idea to look at the SMART data for the hard drive. This is what I am seeing from HD Sentinel:
1,Raw Read Error Rate,51,200,200,OK,0,0,Enabled
3,Spin Up Time,21,188,188,OK,1558,0,Enabled

200,Write Error Rate,51,100,253,OK,0,0,Enabled
I'm not sure what a lot of the data means, but I do notice that the Reported Uncorrectable Errors value is 16. Before I do something like send the hard drive in for warranty repair, I just want to get some expert opinions on whether my hard drive is doomed or if this is normal.
