Is my hard drive failing?

Starting yesterday, I've been noticing something going on with my computer. When I was downloading a game from Steam, it would get part of the way through the download then say "Disk Write Error." I did some research on it and the Steam help forum said that the error is usually due to a failing hard drive. I ran a check disk and got this data:

I decided it would be a good idea to look at the SMART data for the hard drive. This is what I am seeing from HD Sentinel:

I'm not sure what a lot of the data means, but I do notice that the Reported Uncorrectable Errors value is 16. Before I do something like send the hard drive in for warranty repair, I just want to get some expert opinions on whether my hard drive is doomed or if this is normal.

Not familiar with Sentinel, is 16 the RAW value for that attribute?
It is also recommended to run a couple more SMART test with other tools for value consistency, hddscan, crystaldiskinfo, etc.

What is a warranty repair? Know of warranty drive replacement only. Typically manufacturer's warranty does not cover device repair or data recovery.

I believe that 16 is the RAW attribute. hddscan gives a value of 0000000000-0011 which is 17 in decimal format. It seems that the SMART data is consistent between the two tools. Also, warranty repair was probably not the best choice of words. I really meant replacement, but I would have to send the laptop back to the manufacturer for them to replace the drive.

Although it does not look bad, the drive seems to begin degrading.
Don't think the manufacturer will agree this is enough of a reason to replace the drive.

Also, what is the full model of the drive?
And how has is it been used (powered on 24/7 with lots of read-write operation, only powered on occasionally for backup, etc.)?

The model of the hard drive is WDC WD10SPCX-60KHST0. It is for personal use so the computer is not on 24/7. I'll use it to play games or web browsing and word processing. I have had the laptop for about 9 months and bought it brand new. The total power on time for the drive is 28 days, 3 hours.

Interesting.. theoretically the drive should be ok, but there are lemons out there every now and then. Sometimes, they don't do so well with physical shocks and so on.

Make a solid backup and replace drive if worried. Then wipe it and sell it on Ebay for parts and recover some of the expense.

Yeah my plan now is to just continue to use it while keeping backups of important data and seeing if the drive continues to degrade. I have a 3 year manufacturer warranty on the laptop, so should anything happen I'm covered. I was just wondering if it might be too early to send it in for warranty because the drive condition still says "OK"
