I can't honestly think of anyone I'd recommend in NY. There's no shortage of places there offering "Data Recovery", but I think they are mostly all just mailing stations where they receive the drive and then ship it out for you.

There is no reputable company in Brooklyn. Have to go across the bridge, but not many are truly local as already mentioned.
