Hi, sorry my bad english.

My Seagate ST380817AS hard drive's PCB card crashed.

I bought new second hand Seagate ST380817AS hard drive and replaced PCB card.
But didn't benefical.

I think this. After discovered this detail: Config code mismatch.

My broken down Pcb config code: c4r-04 , I bought Pcb card congfig code: c4r-03.
It is mismatch.

My opinion is re-programming PCB card. But it is need mastership.

I can connect PCB card terminal interface. (with ttl adapter to Usb, baudrate 9600)

I can getting F> prompt and advanced commands can writable.
I can connect terminal, but i dont now command set. I cannot continune.

I want to PCB re-program, but I do not know.

In hdd guru available files:

http://files.hddguru.com/download/PC-30 ... gate/Puma/,
http://files.hddguru.com/download/Non-P ... gate/Puma/

But i do now know flash this files. Can you help me?
Thanks.

Verry silly of me ....

Happens all the time now...

You don't have to write ROM on F> at all ...

If you have a donor drive (entire drive) than you will be at level T> and you can write ROM (same version as of patient drive) from there.

You will need some sort of ST-10 firmware tool like St-Com lacking something better...

Any decent Seagate (ST-10) firmware tool should be able to write ROM to the PCB ...

Thank you for answer.

I understand, I can fix problem with STComTools. But STComTools software is unknown source and not easily to access..
