The drive is Seagate Barracuda ES.2 ST3750330NS 750GB Firmware SN03
It stars normally, no unusual noises or periodic sounds. It can't be seen in BIOS or with external USB-SATA adapter. I thought it is an infamous CC error so I have connected to the service port, and see FlashLED - Failure Code:00000047 Failure Address:00231110, SMART is ok as shown by /1 N5.

Some more interesting dumps from console:
Code:
F3 T>V4

I don't think that a few relocated sectors may cause this though. What stands for Failure Code:00000047?

Any suggestions how to fix it? I googled the solution which overwrite media cache with F3 A>W...,... commands. But the hard drive has no F3 C>U command, and I don't know the size of media cache area.

CPU stack incorrect access
Whatever code was executing at 0x231110 has caused drive's OS to crash due to stack incorrect access

As you may guess it is quite impossible to say what exactly happened with the drive w/o debugging that FW code.

By executing F3 A>R...,... I have found that there are bad blocks in first sectors. If google is correct then the media cache is indeed unreadable. I don't know how to fix the issue though, the size of media cache is unknown to me.

Is "media cache" associated with SmartAlign?

I've tried to clear SMART with F3 1>N1. I don't know how to clean g-list. And don't know how would it help. The disk actually has bad sectors. I've tried to fix them with overwrite and F3 T>V4 now shows more sectors.

No, media cache is a part of drive's storage area, several GB in size, that is hidden from user but it stores user data.

Debugging is only possible if you understand how the firmware works.
It would need to be disassembled and learned.
I don't think it's worth the time though.

I can disassemble and learn it, that is not a big problem. Is it possible to read memory, put breakpoints etc through the F3 command interface?

If it is not a problem - you may try your hand and find out what is wrong with your drive by yourself

Disassembling is only a part of debugging process. There should be a way to read stack, registers, memory.

Once you disassemble the flash you will get your answers
