 Post subject: My hard drive broke. Looks like a blown capacitor.

Can you experts help me out here? I don't know exactly what's wrong, or how I could fix it. Any tips? It doesn't even turn on, so it's a PCB problem.

Looks like you have got some liquid insde there...might be wrong.
Find a similar Pcb on ebay (match the first two lines on the White sticker), switch the 8-legged eprom (25LD****)...and Everything should be ok.

@nicememe23, try to clean up the mess with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol. That may give us a better view of the underlying damage.
