1. Non-original ROM
2. Start without 0 head.
3. Problematic heads.

Serial No. is matching with the sticker

Quote:
1. Non-original ROM
2. Start without 0 head.
3. Problematic heads.

1. Serial no matching. ( ROM is native and Original as the drive belongs to a known client )
2. Without head 0 the sysmtems are same
3. Tried replacing heads. No Change. Patient heads are working in Donor drive.

4. can't read sector 64F3

What could be the solution or a headway ?

Was it at another data recovery place first? Perhaps they wrote the wrong ROM code to it and just modified the serial number so their sabotage wouldn't be obvious.

I only mention it because I seem to be seeing more sabotaged drives lately, probably a result of increasing competition.

Does the current symptom match the original symptom as observed by the client?

Thank you all for responces. Almost all feel the FW is corrupted or somebody wrote a wrong ROM Code.
The client is 100 % sure that this drive was not given to any Data Recovery Company.

fzabkar : The original problem with the drive when we received was it was Knocking and had bad heads.
After head replacement it started giving above message.

Can anyone take up this job. Can it done supposed if it has FW corruption as all feel.

The reason I asked whether the symptoms had changed was that it was suggested that the drive may have been sabotaged. I wondered if the client had reported a different symptom to the one initially observed by you.

What i meant here is that when we received the drive it had bad heads and it was knocking.
After head replacement this message started to apear.
I have tried another set of heads also, the problem still the same.

Shorting read channels does not have any effect.
