Desperately seeking assistance..

My hitachi SATA (HTS545050A7E380 / 0J23335) 500GB hard disk failed (will not boot). Note: BIOS of the ASUS laptop will no longer recognize the hitachi disk.
Would replacing the mother board controller of the hitachi hard drive revive (bring back to life) the hard disk?


If so, where can i purchase the motherboard controller or same hard disk (HTS545050A7E380 / 0J23335) to allow me to regain access to the hard disk.
if purchasing a new hard disk is it possible to remove teh motherboard controller easily and replacing the old hard disk driver controller with the new one.

I assume you're referring to the PCB of the HDD when you say the "motherboard". You really shouldn't even try cold swapping the PCB on those, they contain a NVRAM code on the PCB that is specific to the drive. It's extremely unlikely to help anything, and to be honest it's unlikely the PCB is even the root cause. It's more likely to be a firmware issue or a problem with the read/write heads.

How valuable is the data? Worth risking permanent loss, or valuable enough to justify a few hundred dollars for professional recovery?

Does the drive spin up? If not, then upload a photo of your PCB. There is a fuse you can check, plus a few voltage test points.
