HDD Raw Coy Tool

January 14th, 2017, 19:23

I have a hard drive that is use in a disc duplicator that has what i believe is a proprietary OS installed.

I want to use a larger hard drive in the duplicator. Other than the manufacturere tell me that a bigger HD is supported I cannot get out of them a price to supply or install so I though I would have a go myself. I thought I would do a RAW copy using the HDD RAW Tool 1.10 and then push this back out to a bigger drive.

I've connected the approx 80GB IDE HD in question to my PC with a SATA to USB cable and a converter. Windows 10 disc management recognises the drive but is asking to format it which I do not want to do for fear of losing data on the drive. See images 1 & 2.

The HDD Raw Copy Tool will not pick up the drive however. Image 3.

I am therefore stuck and would gratefully accept any pointers.

The disc in question works perfectly in the device.

Thanks for the reply.

1. I didn't click to format / create anything.

2. It still works in the duplicator. Phew.

3. I'll try this out when I get a spare hour. It's a right pain to get it in and out of the duplicator.

It's an R-Quest NS 2100 (a great machine but no support and ink more pricey than liquid gold).

I'll report back shortly.
