Newbee needs Help with Maxtor

Hello! 
I got a HDD some time ago, it's a Maxtor Diamond Max (4G120J6). Unfortunately it stoped working
(if it would I woldn't write this 
). HDD sounds good, so it seems to have a software problem.
Bios recognizes it as Rolmulus.
After long seeking with google I came to the opignion, that the a part of the firmware, which seems to be stored directly on the drive must be courrupted (Please correct me if I'm wrong
). Has anybody got an idea where I can get the needed Data for this and how I can put it on the HDD??
