WD20NMVW-11EDZS7 need help, outsource? MRT remotely?

August 10th, 2019, 10:29

Hi,

I have this HDD:

WD20NMVW-11EDZS7

It was clicking, so I replaced the heads successfuly. Thing is I do not have software tools yet (MRT on its way).
I was able to access the drive after replacing the heads, with DMDE, and retrieve some data. At one point it became very slow and now it only sees the drive but it has a really sloooooow response.
Seems to be a firmware issue, but as I said before, I cannot go any further without tools.

It is USB 3.0, I don't have a compatible SATA board (if needed, which one?)
Before you ask: yes, heads were replaced in a vertical laminar flow bench safely. I have done it a ton of times. Everytime I had a firmware issue I tried to outsource it or ask for help.

Will anybody help with this? Even maybe remotely if I had MRT?

Many thanks in advance.

Sata connection best for recover that drive. MRT working some usb WD drives over usb connection like connected over Sata. Not all models.
My suggestion that you should fix slow response with tool first. And there could be some bad sectors or weak head . Need to head map to get data from good head and parts first . Than other parts. But for safety as you know necessary a tool. So you can understand what is going on .

What is patient USB PCB number?

2060 771961 usb 》》771959 and 1960 Sata (both working)
2060 771801 usb 》》771823 Sata
