hi all... I'm new to all these
the harddisk is detected in device manager, but volumes don't show up 99% of the time, and when it does, the files are inaccessible, and very slow....
what criteria do I have to look for in search for a compatible board to perform transplant? thank you very much...

99.99% not a PCB fault.
(Slow responding and/or defective head/s)
If data is important seek for the nearest pro.

additional symptoms:
it spins up without any weird noises
but once every few minutes, it makes a sound... not a beep, a bit like whistling, not high pitch, and the disk stops spinning and spins again immediately after

+1 from here 99.9% bad heads. If data has any value disconnect it now. Power on for just a few seconds can make data unrecoverable. Seek pro help, if data is not needed bin the drive and buy a new one.
