What does this noise mean? Is my drive recoverable?

This 2TB Seagate Barracuda randomly died on me the other day, without a backup. It doesn't show up in Windows or BIOS, except for devmgmt where it shows up as "unknown device". What type of failure is this and can it be recovered?

Bad bead(s) for sure, DO NOT power up anymore or you’ll cause more damage.

In a lot of cases like this, one of the heads damages the media of one platter surface as well which requires specialist intervention to check for.

This is NOT a DIY fix and requires professional equipment, knowledge and FW tools to get at least some data back.

100% agree with pcimage. this error come from heads. this is common problem this kind of hdd. sometimes heads is damaged by degrading platter. (magnet dust). if degrading problem can't help. if only head damage you are lucky. how ever you should contact DR eng.
