Hi' i'm new in this forum so please let me know if i need to change anything on this post.

I'm tryign to make my 2TB Seagate st2000lm007 hard drive compatible with a PS3. The PS3 supports 1.75 TB of maximun storage, those hard drives are hard to find the idea was to shrink or hide part of the hard drive size so the console would be able to format it. These are the guides that i tried to follow.

"Flashing to 4.46 OFW and reducing 2Tb hard drive to 3633537126 sectors via "hiding" rest via HPA on PC (formatted first to FAT format on MAC a whole device and GPT instead MBR) with HDAT2 so PS3 sees its as 1732.6GB Hard Drive and did succeed formatting."

With this one i can't find the option in HDAT2 to set the HPA on my hard drive, tried different versions, different sata ports, hot pluggin without any results.

Also tried to do the same with hdparm on linux with this command "hdparm -Np3633537126 --yes-i-know-what-i-am-doing /dev/sdb" and i get this errror.

"HPA setting seems invalid (buggy kernel device driver?)"

The other guide i followed was this one.

"To get this to work follow these steps to reduce your 2TB down to 1.6GB

1. Install Seatools Bootable from Seagates website https://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/
2. Follow the instructions to install Seatools Bootable onto a USB flash drive
3. Reboot your computer onto the flash drive
4. Plug your 2TB drive via USB to your computer
5. Select the checkbox next to the drive
6. Click Advanced (you will be prompted to press F8 to continue)
7. Click Advanced again then click "Set LBA" (you will be prompted to press F8 to continue)
8. Set the New LBA to 3221225471 (this is the max ps3 will accept, +1 more will not work, if your ps3 does not accept lower the number down a litttle more).
9. Install the harddrive into your ps3 and after partitioning andf formatting capacity will be 1366 free / 1536 total"

When i try to set the new LBA i get "UNABLE TO RUN 0%"

And just creating a partition doesn't work.

Thanks for your time, apologize my grammar English is not my native language.
