Sabotage?

We received in a laptop drive that had been to another data recovery firm. The client had declined their quotation.

It didn't spin up. Further analysis showed that the ROM segment from 0x00000 to 0x00100 was filled with zeros.

What are the chances of this occurring randomly in a 256K flash ROM?

Yeah, I thought so. Not nice!!

We're copying data from the drive now.

I'd say name 'em and shame 'em, but sadly, those are the types of labs who generally have no problem writing a bunch of fake reviews.
