HP Lefthand RAID 6

Hello everyone, back with another weird RAID/SAN case, where I'm at a dead end. I'm hoping some of you may be able to give me some insight.

First the details:
  • 12 900GB SAS drives, in RAID6
  • Inside VMFS, with 7 VMDKs
  • Data is striped across those 7 VMDKs, but pattern is not consistent
  • Inside is another VMFS, with more VMDKs, and those contain client data

So far I have tried:
  • To reconstruct the "RAID" formed by the 7 VMDKs with DE or UFS, but neither are able to see anything (UFS detects a "Lefthand partition").
  • Set up a VM in VMWare Workstation to see if by adding the VMDKs it would recognize them (it doesn't)
  • Set up an ESXi VM, load the VMDKs into its datastore, and try and create a VM from there, no luck

After this I'm stumped, does anyone have an idea as to what can be tried?
