Hello
I've got a problem with my Seagate ST1000LM035. Originally it was external HDD adata hd720. From day to day it stopped working.
HDD is detected in the bios and in the device manager but the initialization attempt ends with an I / O error.HDD sounds normal as it did before the failure.
After connecting it to the HDD reader, it looks as if it was busy all the time.
Can I fix it at home? Or I have to give it to a specialist company?
Disk information:
model: ST1000LM035
FW: SBM3
PN: 1RK172-568
Sorry for my bad english
Regards

Hello,

This is of the Rosewood family, terminal access is locked, but i would not recommend tinkering with it because it is easy to screw it up. So if the data is important, contact an expert.

Agree with Pepe.

Unfortunately for you, there’s no DIY option, especially on this model.

Seek local assistance from a proper data recovery specialist, and NOT a local PC store or “PC fixit” Guy!
