Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi,
I'm trying to source some jumpers / shunts for a Seagate SCSI HDD. These jumpers are only 1mm tall with a pitch of 2mm, and are smaller than the typical 2mm 'micro' jumpers you can buy from ebay and other online sites. The following cautionary note is documented in the Seagate Product Manual:
Seagate SCSI Manual wrote:Do not use J2 jumper plugs on J6 or J1-Auxiliary, as the internal contacts will be deformed and can not be used on J2 without them falling off.
Where J2 is the jumper I'm trying to source, and the J6 / J1 Auxiliary jumpers the more standard 2mm pitch 'micro' jumpers. The manual also offers the following detail for the jumpers I'm looking for:
Seagate SCSI Manual wrote:Suggested part numbers for the jumpers used on J2 is Molex 52747-0211 (Seagate P/N 77679052)
but I can't find these anywhere.
I did try some of
these but they were too big.
TIA.

I can probably take some off some duff/spare SCSI drives, I have quite a lot.
Drop me a PM with your contact details.

Thank you very much for the offer. I'll send a PM shortly. For reference, here's a photo of the jumpers in question:

TBH, I think they're too big. I'll post up some more photos shortly.

Sorry. Thought I'd be able to edit my earlier post, but it doesn't appear to be allowed, so I've had to double post.
Here's a couple of photos showing the two different 2mm micro jumpers side by side. The first photo is a top down view, and the second photo in a side on view. The jumper on the LHS is too big and doesn't grip the header pins. I suspect these are the same ones that you've taken a photo of.
I assume you don't have any of the smaller ones that are shown on the RHS?
Thank you very much for your help so far.

I think I might have found a solution using the slightly larger 2mm jumpers. If I stick a strand of Kynar wire through the middle of the jumper holes I get enough bite to hold the jumper tightly in place:

- New jumper with thru wire

- New jumper with thru wire installed on drive

The ones I sent were from a Seagate SCSI drive, so maybe they’ll be OK?
Let me know when you get them!

Hi,
Jumpers arrived today. They are definitely a better fit than the ones I had been trying, and they do stay in place when pushed on. However, they are still a little bit on the slack side and I suspect they may come loose over time. As long as they make a good electrical contact, a piece of blu-tack or similar will probably hold them securely in place.
Thank you very much your assistance. It's very much appreciated.
Best regards
