HDD RAW data recovery question

Hi Guys
I have 3 Sata HDD that are recognized in Disc Management only and is listed as RAW data. This was likely due to power failure while system was running. I need software that is able to be used from a boot disc (not while in Windows, thaose don't recognise the drive) and can retrieve RAW data. I used to use an Active@ product but it's been years and I was wondering if anyone has used something that worked for them?

It would be nice to have a WinPE ISO for those of us with a license for the Windows version.

Try the "console for DOS" or "console for Linux" versions. You should be able to run them from a bootable flash drive.

If you can attach the drives to a working PC, then the GUI versions of DMDE should be able to see your data even if Windows cannot.

Not only can people here in HDDGURU help, if time is critical, if the data is critical, it does not hurt to have a thread in a forum dedicated to Data Recovery. Even the wisest man on earth long ago surrounded himself with a group (albeit a very small one!) of advisors. Even on my own now-long-gone discussion board, I always pointed a poster to expert sites such as HDDGURU and others.

I wouldn't trust any advice given on Spiceworks. Their moderators allow for stupid advice like SpinRite and freezers, let software vendors (site sponsors) recommend their software programs for cases of physical damage, not even mentioning the risks to the victims and they ban anyone who would go so far as to challenge the bad advice. Basically, Spiceworks is only interested in $$$ and don't give a rip about the advice being given.

If data is critical go ask an expert. Do not fiddle with it at all. In my experience end user forums, even if they have a subforum dedicated to data recovery are the worst places to go to. It's where people get the stupid ideas to go and try DiskDrill. And Stellar. And RecoverIt. Or run PhotoRec to end up with zillions of files without a directory structure while a decent tool would have given them less false positives, file names and a directory structure.

Arch, you bring up excellent points! Across The 'Net, there are tho$e who only $ell, there are those who are incorrect with their advice. Although I have noticed an abundance of $ellers and "incorrect-info-givers" on data recovery forums, I also have noticed the postings of experts, people experienced in data recovery. Your warning words are like golden apples upon a silver platter, I thank you for the reminders.
