 Post subject: WD4003FRYZ-01F0DB0 PROBLEM WITH PCB

Hello everyone,

I have this WD drive with model WD4003FRYZ-01F0DB0 and original pcb is burned.

When i install donour pcb it gives model, serial, firm and capacity on pc3k but when i enter universal utility it gives error that drive is locked.

Can someone help me with issue?

Sorry to ask, have you remembered to transfer ROM or firmware from burned PCB to donor ?
Your drive is most likely a Hitachi in WD disguise.

Did you check the fuses and TVS diodes?

There appear to be two ROMs located at the top left corner of the MCU in your photo.

I bet it gives you the S/N of the donor and not the one on your bad drives label?

Yes I know it. recovered data before.
PCB no 0B36131

I have transfered both chips. And worked.
That chips smaller than common Rom chips. be carefull
