Hello all.

I am asking for help in solving the problem with the hard drive from the worst series in the world.

The patient was with MC damage, I took off the flags in file 93, uploaded it back.

The disk started fully, the second head was in poor condition. She read but very slowly, after a long operation of this head the Disk went into BSY state. I downloaded the data from the other 3 heads. After turning on the 2nd head, the Disk went into BSY state.

Terminal log:

Code:
Boot 0x80M
Tech Unlock Handshake: 0x913614D0

The error still points to the MC. The problem is I can't get to the terminal commands. CTR + Z is not working. The disk goes immediately to the BSY state

Without access to a terminal, nothing will be done.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I hope you have made the necessary sysfiles backup before. You could read via terminal.

you already said, but at least one of head is weak. similar problem was solved by head replacement.

Good luck!

@MindMergepk - As I wrote, I can't connect to the disk via termianl. Previously, I also had an LED: 8D message, but I could interrupt the disk startup by CTRL + Z

@bojack - I also suspect the heads, but the disk starts normally, will not knock. I would replace the heads, unfortunately I don't have a donor and the client leaves after the weekend. I have the same 2TB with damaged heads (normal in this HDD family)

Phew ... I managed to get to the terminal by shorting two pads. 10 minutes to find the right pads and 3 hours to find the right moment. But I didn't kill any test HDD :)

Marked with a black circle. I hope it's clearly visible in the photo. It contains two pads about one second after unlocking by the patch.
