I'm having issues with PCB replacement for ST5000DM000 - after dumping the old ROM and copying it to the new PCB (using flashrom and RaspberryPi) the drive is still unrecognizable in Windows, but under Linux I can see the partition list (via fdisk), but mounting any of the partitions fails (I'm getting timeouts). Do i need to make some other steps in order to make this drive usable? I don't care about the data on the drive.

I've also tried to enter serial console of this drive, but this fails with "diagnostic port locked' message.

P.S. New PCB has the same revision, but it differs with memory chip (Hynix instead of Samsung)
P.S. The old PCB failed after wrong power cable (12V was connected to the 5V pins) - any ideas which PCB elements burned?

this sounds like a strange constellation. PCB replacement should have cured the problem, if the preamp on the MHA survived the surge. But if it didn't, you should not be able to see any partitions on it. Could you post hdparm result when you connect it to linux?

Usually it's the 5V TVS diode and associated zero-ohm resistors or inductors, if any.
