Hello
I have the unlocked board 800065 for these drives

It is unlocked until the original ROM came soldered on the unlocked board is used

I explain :-)

Until now I have received two WD20SMZW one is 11JM8S0 the last one is 59YFCS0

Both of them gave the same result: after have move their ROM onto the unlocked SATA board, both boot as SED Locked, like if the ROM itself is SED Locked

Do you own the 800065 unlocked board?
Have you successfully got the drive unlocked?

Can you kindly share the unlocked ROM?

Hopefully vers. 0006000R but either another WD Charger 2TB version is good at least to test it with my board

Thank you

hi Corsari, the unlocked board gives accsess to SA . not Data. SED drives have Rom based, you can remove SED but the data will be lost.

UPDATE:

Case solved with our second unlocked board... But a big issue rises.

One of our unlocked boards became locked.

you may believe it or not

We own two unlocked 800065 boards

One of them, after have moved on it the ROM from a WD20SMZW-11JW8S0, became SED Locked

Going to do some few more verifications but the situation is evident

These days, the ROM from a new case has been installed on that same board and gave the evidence

Please Note: the board was originally unlocked. After installing the ROM from the above WD20SMZW-11JW8S0 we booted the drive and it started SED .
Luckily we cloned it anyway and at that time, we forgot the issue.
