refurb wd hard drive

November 28th, 2020, 9:12

hello,
I have tons of WD DRIVE coming from my lab, many of them with less than 100 reallocate or unc sectors, many other with log smart errors and some that fail short self test.
What is the best practice to test it and refurb to sell as used drives(or use internally to temp image patients drive) . In past use victoria or mhdd to test surface, maybe with remap, but for those drive that fail smart can Wdmarvel(i have license and already use t for data recovery ) be useful to test and refurb drive like new.
Thanks

Why don't you rather sell them as donors?
DR companies are always looking for the, and if you can sell them at good prices, you will get good money.
Because doing refurbs on HDD at the prices that they are, I don't think it's a viable business.
You will have to give warranty too, right? Are you thinking of dealing with that?
