Dear friends,

i'm working on a Seagate ST1000LM035-1RK172 SBM3 with probably MC-Issue.

Drive wasn't detected. After unlocking patch in PC3K i got following messages without Ctrl-Z:

I could backup all systemfiles from both copies, so heads should be OK. Any other action (reading modules, refreshing informations in ulitity-status, ...) causes HDD freezing in BSY-State.

I tried to edit SMP-Flags in SysFile93 (uncheck all options without the first like described by ACE), but can't write it back (Not supported in FW).

I read, that sysfile-writing is only possible in ATA indirect mode, but don't know how to do this. Can anybody explain, please?

Thanks.
Best regards, Boerge

Solved.

Had to refresh all Options in Utility Status ASAP after PowerOn (with 5 Power-Cycles). After this i could write Sysfile93 back in ATA indirect mode.

Drive is imaging now.

This stupid power cycle tricky saved me today. Exactly same issue.
