Some guidance on using HDD Guru Low Level Format 'quick wipe

December 14th, 2020, 12:59

I got into a disk mess installing HDs across MSI motherboards-- 880 and 760.
To straighten things out I reverted to a disk wipe. I had never used the HDD Guro Low Level Format quick wipe check box before this and usually did the long wipe with no problems.

When I formated and then tried to use old Norton Ghost on it (all my stuff is old,)
Norton gave unusable readings like 12 mb/min and 300 hours to complete. Norton was doig the initial read of NTFS. A total scramble. I was sure I put the NTFS on.

Is this a known problem with the quick MBR wipe?
