So, my trusty SSHD has stop spinning and I'm not ready to give up on it. It seems dead and isn't recognized by the PC.

As far as I understand, there is a chance that I just need to initialize the NAND onboard (wouldn't surprise me, it was not properly ejected last time I used it). But I'm a bit lost about what would I need to do this: what sort of adapter and software I need to get to be able to do this: I keep reading about F3 and terminal commands, but I don't get how exactly am I supposed to interact with a HDD that looks to be completely dead. Is there a guide?

Another question is: let's assume this is all due to some issue with the board (it was never dropped and I always handled it with care, I really don't think the problem was brought by some impact): a board replacement is enough to fix this? I'm asking because I have found replacements for sale on HDDZone, but I don't know if board compatibility is enough.

replacing the pcb won't help with this problem. When it comes to seagate HDD at least the flash rom chip must be swapped, but this is not enough with an sshd.
