I've a 80 Gb IDE maxtor diamondmax plus 9 HDD which has a clicking sound for several times whenever it starts and then the sound finishes after about 20 times. It seems that this the head problem. but i replaced the head and the clicking sound still remains with the new head and I cannot access the data.
can anybody help me with this problem

Either the donor head set is not compatible or the drive has some fw problem.
