need help to understand HDD problem

March 10th, 2021, 1:34

Have an HDD (NTFS) with two partitions D and E.
Partition D was showing some issue.
So first, it was checked with
SeaTools.
Result:
SMART - Pass
Short Drive Self Test DST - Fail
Short Generic - Pass
Long Generic - Fail
Then:
Windows, Tools scan : No errors found
Then:
EASUS Partition Manager : No errors
Then:
Minitool Partition : NO errors, (see attachment)

Can I get advice on what exactly could be the issue considering the SeaTools DST fail and Long Generic Failure.
thanks.
p.s. am a user with not much technical knowledge

Can you show us a SMART report with a tool such as CrystalDiskInfo?

If you need your data, use a tool such as HDDSuperClone to clone your drive.

thanks.
SMART test on Seatools shows "pass"
at this point, only need to know exactly what do these tests on seatools indicate:
DST
short generic
long generic
so, if the DST and Long Generic Test show fail what exactly does it indicate.

which parts do they test and how are they different from the other tools which I indicated which do not show any errors.
thank you.

SeaTools cannot be trusted. It will tell you that a drive is OK even it has several thousand reallocated sectors.
