Bios chip for 100687658 REV C

Hello,

I have a Seagate ST2000VM003 2TB.
Suddenly it stopped working and they told me that the PCB is damaged.

I found out that the bios chip is damaged in order to swap to a new PCB.
Is there any chance to find the same PCB with the same bios chip or just the bios chip to swap it to a new one?

Is there any tool to program another bios chip to be compatible to this HDD?

The problem is that the Serial Flash (Bios chip if you like), contains unique adaptive data, so it can't be supplied from another disk.
Wondering who told you it is damaged and how exactly it is damaged...
Contact Northwind if you need the data, it is not something DIY without any clue about these disks.

If the "BIOS" chip is OK, then a PCB supplier such as hdd-parts.com will transfer the chip to a replacement PCB for US$50, including the cost of the PCB.

If the BIOS chip is damaged, then you will be facing a very expensive data recovery cost. Only a few people claim to be able to recover a drive in such cases. If you can find someone to read the chip, I could try to repair it, if the "adaptive" sections are still OK.

Could you upload detailed photos of your PCB? Sometimes there is an easy DIY fix, if the BIOS diagnosis is incorrect.
