How to clone PS4 HDD?

April 2nd, 2021, 19:06

Can anyone recommend how to clone a PS4 HDD? I want to upgrade it and keep everything as is. Here is what I got, please let me know if it is not compatible. I also already tried using a Sabrent dual bay dock and it didn't work.

How long do you intend to use your PS4? Because the drive in your first link is a Rosewood. That means, if your intention is to use your PS4 for x time and you use this Rosewood drive, then divide x by 4 and then divide that by 10.

To be honest I'm not sure if PS4 locks drives by s/n or requires specific drive versions to run. Just wanted to give you a heads up about your HDD choice.
I suspect you just need to make a sector by sector image of the drive and plug it in. But I might be wrong.

I would say-it is not possible. PS4 will download everything from internet anyway.

Hi.

You can clone it normally (you have to do a real sector by sector clone)

However it's way easier to backup your saved games, history modes etc, put a blank disk in and just install it as a brand new device.

In the end you imlort everything back and you are done.
