Hi All,

Not sure what's recommended approach as to play with old IDE disk with ATA password enabled the easiest way was to use i.e. ThinkPad T43.
Unfortunately when the IDE disk with ATA password enabled is plugged and laptop started, there seem to be no way to boot it of USB even if in BIOS it is earlier set to be the first to try.

One idea which came to my mind is to hot-plug this IDE disk (Hitachi Endurastar), but that carries risks as IDE is not designed to be hot-plug.
USB enclosures are generally speaking not cooperative with MHDD and other programs.

Hence am wondering what's the best way to boot of USB stick with password enabled HDD? I've list of passwords to try, but not willing to type it at the boot time (might be keyboard issue, etc.).

If there's specific type of USB enclosure or other approach, please kindly share. Or maybe there's a keyboard shortcut to force ThinkPad T43 to not prompt for HDD password prior booting from USB?

Thanks!
