Hard Drives Locked

May 13th, 2021, 14:54

I already have another post with two hard drives that won't spin, and now my computer had a spectacular crash, and somehow two of the drives in the PC now are User password locked. seems like HDD's and I don't get along.

Anyway, I have no idea how this happened, but I managed to fix one of the drives. I found a list of master passwords for some brands and the Toshiba drive is now unlocked. Used hdparm in Linux to unlock it, but I also have a WD WD80EZAZ drive that I have been unable to unlock.

I try to unlock it but I get an

SG_IO: bad/missing sense data, sd[] with a hex code

I can't decipher the hex code but it could probably indicate what the problem is. The drive is now not frozen and no expired: security count, so I guess I have more than two minutes with it.

Attached are the photos of what I am doing and the result, can someone please help me unlock this second drive, it has my plex media.

Thanks,

Manolo
