Thanks for the reply. I put this HDD to one side for a couple of days as it was necessary to work on some other jobs. No combination of ROM blocking/LDR/soft resets would get this to the stage of reading normally. Due to the amount of time this HDD was requiring I have had to close the job. There might be a solution to it, it could simply be due to a very fussy requirement on donor heads, but after the use of 6 donor head assemblies, it was necessary to call time. Frustrating. However, I thank everyone for their input, there was some interesting reading to be had.
