Maxtor 91296D Question

October 12th, 2021, 23:15

There is a post on reddit where the OP has what he calls a Maxtor 91296D.
https://www.reddit.com/r/AskADataRecove ... puter_but/

It is healthy when booted on an old Win98 computer, but can't be read using a couple different USB adapters. The best info I have found about the drive is from this link:
https://www.donordrives.com/91296d6-kmd ... r-hdd.html

There is no mention of LBA or the size on the label from the image of the label from the link. Is it possible that this drive is CHS only? The description in the link states 12GB, but doing the math on from the label is only 8GB. I just want to know if it is possible that this drive does not support LBA for as big as it is. I want to know if I am wrong to say it could be CHS only.

Hello,

judging by the capacity it must support LBA addressing, also the CHS values on the label suggest that.
