Toshiba MQ01ABD100 - Clicking and error reading

October 15th, 2021, 21:06

Hello to all,
Toshiba MQ01ABD100 2.5" here, when connected a rithim of one clicking sound per second, just like a clock.
None shows up, not in Linux nor Windows.
After some time the clicking stops, after that DMDE and R-Studio are able to see it, but they can´t read, errors 1117, 0 capacity, no partitions.
PCB looks fine, 2.5v at bios.
Is it possible to read it via TTL to get some info?
Could it be firmware or do you think heads/platters obviously?
Thanks.

What's the history on it - does it spin and click or just click. Id be opening it up to check for damage but my money is always on heads with 2.5" - so many dropped laptop drives.

According to the owner the laptop just stopped working like 2 years ago, no crash, who knows. The drive spins and after the clickings it gives up and doesn't respond but you can feel the vibration.
