ST2000DM001, 1CH164-306 spinning up but unrecognized

March 20th, 2022, 22:03

Hello,

Yet another post on a Seagate failure.
I have a ST2000DM001, 1CH164-306 drive, which spins up correctly, no clicks and prints the following in the serial port.
The board is a 100717520 REV B.

Here's the result I am getting each time the drive turns on:
Code:
Boot 0x40M
Spin Up
Trans.

Spin Up
SpinOK
TCC:001C

(P) SATA Reset

(S) SATA Reset

Commands such as Control + Z do not trigger any result. (unreactive terminal).

Any thoughts on how to obtain a hand at the serial interface to troubleshoot further?

I have zero interest in the drive contents and am OK taking calculated risks.

Thanks
