WD HC550 16-18 Tb new firmware and windows update tool

Hello friends,

After mailing WD for one week i got latest firmware and hugo tools. I updated mine to latest version even newer from site. Mine was WD 16 TB HC550. Good Luck

Results: Less clicking and head sound.

How to update: Install Hugo inside zip file and run it from its directory as administrator and Hugo runs at cmd screen press s and enter note serial number of WD HC550
then
u -f /path/to/file/<firmware_file_name> -s (HDD serial) and enter wait 20 secs may be. Update finishes. Shutdown pc and restart. New firmware is intalled.

Try these firmwares but take care for Sata or SAS

safakhan, Nope, this firmwares for something customized drives, letters "GA" says it, and its not compatible with drives that you can buy in local shop. Your fw PCGNW680 is for standard generic drive letters "GN" says it. It would be good to find PCGNC680

That's SAS firmware, isn't it?

fzabkar, Yes, in name PC means series, in this case Paris-C, GN means generic, C means SAS ISE drive

Where did you get those firmware files? It not post in WD page.. I wanna find a HC530 firmware file, But those they post in WD page's firmware files seem like for Specific model that you can't buy in normal store
