Netapp FW to LOD

June 16th, 2022, 4:44

Hi All

Has anyone ever converted a netapp .DLP file to a .LOD?

i was hoping to not have to use a netapp system to upgrade the firmware.

Thanks

Yes, if you like. I suspect that the only difference may be a Netapp header. However, the end result may still be that the LOD file will be rejected by the firmware updater, even if it is presented in the correct format.

To create a Seagate .LOD file, you need to strip off this header:

Thanks.

After striping this content should I just flash It using SeaChest?

I think that should be OK. Just be aware that mixing OEM and retail firmware is inadvisable because it may brick the drive or result in unexpected behaviour.
