Complex Multiple encryption recovery case

June 24th, 2022, 2:22

I have got a complex case having following issue -
M.2 SSD -- 512 GB
Laptop was encrypted with McAfee antivirus and the laptop hostname that was there in McAfee OU was moved to Bit locker OU.
This resulted in pushing bit locker on the laptop that was already having McAfee Encryption.
OS – Windows 10 Enterprise
Laptop is not booting up.
Customer has both bitlocker and Mcafee Keys .
I want to make clone of original SSD on multiple SSD's. unfortunately not too many 512 GB SSD's are available,
(Samsung 860 PRO was 512 GB but it is discontinued)
I want to know whether recovery is possible in this case or not. Since this is R & D type job outcome will be known only after full diagnostics , but at least if I
Is it needed to make clone on m.2 Type SSD's and put them in original laptop for decryption attempt or it can be done on 2.5" SSD and do offline work on another desktop PC.

If come to know that recovery is possible then I can update customer and take this job otherwise if it is impossible type then better I reject it.
Any suggestions ? Thanks

Make vhdx image using ufs, decrypt it with bitlocker key. Mount to windows as VM, and use McAfee software to decrypt it with another key.
