Seagate ST1000LM035 size 0MB

June 27th, 2022, 12:11

Hello, I have a Seagate Mobile:

ST1000LM035
FW: SBM3
BOARD: 10080947

When turning on the computer, the BIOS appears in size: 0MB.
I'm accessing the serial port through the CH341a, with the RealTerm software and I get the following lines when connecting to the source:

Initialization 0x80M
Initialization 0x80M
First 0x80M
SRV DETCR init 0x0000
EDAC value = 0000F018E59FF018
EDAC value = 0000F018E59FF018
EDAC value = 0000F018E59FF018
EDAC value = 0000F018E59FF018
Error SIM 2042 LBA 00000000000122A3 FD FC35E028
RW Error 00000080
DOS Scanning Drive:0
No Phy: staggered rotation bypass
DCS

I think this is a case of a locked hard drive. Can anybody help me?

Hello,

unlocking this drive is not a walk in the park without tools, and even after unlocking...

Your unique translator is corrupted and likely other system files. You have to deal with this situation very delicately or the data will be gone forever. Hopefully you can rebuild page 28 from partial copies otherwise you're stuck trying to rebuild translator from 1B and 35 assuming you can reconstruct these as well.

If you run this drive too long or leave it idling it's very likely to crash at the spindle when the heads drift there so I wouldn't keep powering it up.

It should be interesting to know :

- purchase date, better : the date on the disk
- complete model number
- number of startup (smart raw values for #04 or #0c attributes)
