Hi, guys

my seagate 2tb 3.5" HDD failed a month ago.

a) first, win10 pop up some notice, says "drive X has some error". (File on the drive accessible)

b) restart system, the bios can not detect the drive sometime, if the drive detected, the system took very long time to boot.(File on the drive accessible).

c) so I unmount the drive, store it in anti-static bag, waiting my new WD 14tb drive to backup my data.

d) I reinstall the drive, but system won't boot, it stuck at win10 logo or blue screen. I unmount the drive. waiting the usb3.0 to sata adapter.

e) I connect the drive via USB3.0 to SATA adapter, drive detected, I use software "DiskGenius" funtion "Copy Sectors", after copied half of the sectors(about 1tb),
the drive starts disconnect and reconnect by itself.(File on the drive accessible, the "DiskGenius" report shows there are a lot bad sectors)

f) Since File on the drive accessible, so I copy import files one by one instead, but sometime cause computer no response, freeze.

g) Now it's getting worse. I connect the drive via SATA hot plug, win10 detected drive, but File on the drive not accessible, win10 will freeze or blue screen.

h) I connect the drive via usb to sata adapter, win10 detected drive, then the drive disconnect by itself, after a few minutes, it reconnected by itself and spinning up, win10 shows drive letter,

but File on the drive not accessible, after a few minutes, it disconnect again, spinning down, and no more reconnect by itself. unplug and replug adapter, same again.

drive info:
ST2000DM001
SN: W1E33H0E
FW: CC24
PN: 1CH164-301
date: 13285
DOM: 01/2013
drive spinning normal, no clicking, no other noise, no beeping. no drop. never open.

Hope someone can help me out, pointing a right direction, feel if I keeping trying blindly, will make it even worse. Does the DFS tool or similar tool helps in this situation?
what is the issue, PCB, motor, heads, FW? my case is small issue, can be fixed by my self with some tools or is big issue, has to send to the data recovery company?

Thanks

1st step, If you have a serial adapter cable, connect it to the drive (4 little PIN) so you can see error on the terminal (downlaod PUTTY).
If 1st is not possible, try to clone it with HDDSuperClone, there's a free version, need to run it on Linux (Ubuntu is ok).
