Hi,

We were using our internal hard disk using a USB connector.

After plugging it recently, got an error Drive isnt accessible.
The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable.

We performed CHKDSK /f and CHKDSK /r .

Now the error changed to drive is not accessible. We changed its security settings. Added permissions of full control for every one. Now the drive is opening but all files are gone.

Can we recover it ? Please help.

That sounds like a logical issue, for example, use R-Studio to see if you can access the data or use it to scan the drive.

Best do a SMART test first -
hddscan.com

If it fails SMART use hddsuperclone or dd to clone the drive (as-is condition) then as SirForensic said, use R-Studio or DMDE to recover your files.

if data is important, clone it first, you might loose time (and data) with a smart test...
checking SMart attrs might be informative enough and a lot safer than a smart test.
